Do you shoot make-overs?
Yes, If required I can arrange to have a professional hair & makeup artist on the shoot. This obviously involves an additional fee, payable to them - but does make a difference. As an editorial fashion photographer I have many friends in the business who would be willing to perform their art for a portrait. These are makeup artists who generally work in London for editorial clients. Their busy schedule might mean that we need to arrange the timing carefully, so they have a free day.
Do I need Hair & Make-up for a portrait?
No. It's not essential. It does help, of course. However, we cannot all afford to book a hair and make-up artist to have our picture taken. Often a little powder is all that is needed, and a brush of the hair. Small defects like the occasional spot (we all get them) can easily be retouched in post production.
Do you shoot model portfolio's?
I can of course shoot model portfolios. My background is as a fashion photographer, so I know all about how modeling agencies work etc.. However, I always like to offer guidance on a people wanting to become models. Most models do not require a portfolio when they first start out. The established, respected London Agencies are not interested in portfolios. They just want a normal head shot and a full length shot. Then to see you in person. Portfolios are usually done once a model is taken on, and if a model is any good, then she can usually get these images done for free, as up and coming photographers will be willing to do test shoots with new models. I will certainly not turn down the chance to shoot anyone, but just want girls and boys to be aware of how hard it is to get into modeling. I hate seeing people being ripped off by unscrupulous photographers selling them model portfolio's without explaining that good agencies never want to see them.
Passport Pictures?
Passports last 10 years. If you are getting a photo for your passport, think about spending a little bit of time and money making that picture look fantastic. Photo booths are not professional fashion photographers. I can assure you that the results I can achieve will be something you will be proud to show your friends and family - and especially passport control.
